Document 174920 SANFORD B. DOLE President of Hawaii, 1894-1900. Partly Printed Check signed: "S.B. Dole", 8½x3. Honolulu, Hawaii, 1921 March 3. Drawn on the Bank of Hawaii, Ltd., made payable by Dole to "South Kona Tobacco Co. Ltd." for $20. After serving in the Hawaiian legislature (1884-1887) and as Associate Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court (1887-1893), Dole was the head of the revolutionary provisional government after Queen Liliuokalani was deposed in 1893. Dole was the only President of the Republic of Hawaii (1894-1900) and the first Governor of the U.S. Territory of Hawaii (1900-1903).
